Frequently asked questions
Are my documents backed up and synced?
Only if you choose to. Your documents stay on your iPhone until you turn on cloud backup: sign in in the Account tab, then turn on the Cloud Backup switch (you confirm it twice). Your documents, page images and signatures are then copied to your GetCamScan cloud and kept in sync with getcamscan.com and your other devices signed in to the same account. Turning the switch off stops the sync: you can keep the cloud copy or delete it. Documents you import on the website are stored in the cloud.
Can GetCamScan read Hebrew?
Text recognition runs on your iPhone and reads English, French and many other languages. Apple’s on-device recognition doesn’t read Hebrew, so Hebrew pages can be read by Google Cloud Vision, only if you ask for it: add Hebrew in Account › Document Languages, sign in and turn on cloud backup, then tap Google (Hebrew) on a page’s Text screen, or turn on Read Hebrew with Google in Tools › Hebrew Text (Google) to read new Hebrew pages automatically. On the website, use Read with Google (Hebrew) in the Text tool. A daily page limit applies.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Account tab › Delete My Account, then confirm. Your account and every document and image stored in your GetCamScan cloud are permanently deleted; documents saved on your iPhone stay there. You can also ask us by email from the address of your account.
How do I export my documents?
In the app, open a document and tap Share: PDF (optionally protected with a password), JPG, Word, PowerPoint, text, or Excel for tables — then save to Files, send by email, AirDrop or any app. On the website, download a document as a searchable PDF, images or Word, or select several documents to download them as a ZIP.
Can I print or scan with my printer?
Yes, on the same Wi-Fi network. Tools › Printers saves your AirPrint printers and a default printer for one-tap printing. Tools › Scan from a Printer scans straight from a multifunction printer that supports AirScan or Mopria (eSCL); the pages become a new document. Allow local network access when iOS asks: the app talks to your printer directly, nothing goes through our servers.
I forgot my password
On the app’s Account tab or on the website’s sign-in page, choose Forgot password? and follow the link we email you.
